How2Heroes is a DIY Cooking video site. The site is rather plain looking and the video offerings are paltry compared to some of the bigger players in this area like 5Mins, the Hungry Savage and YouTube. Video recipes are arranged by light categories, such as breakfast, entrees and family recipes.

The actual navigation of the site is slick and well thought out. I especially liked how all the recipes were laid out on one page under the headings, as other sites usually bury the recipes through pagination. Unfortunately, the video player used on How2Heroes is clunky and ugly. There doesn't appear to be any way to fast forward through the video, asides from letting the video load and then skimming to the relevant sections. Although it lets you embed the videos on your own site, I don't quite think you would want to - at least not with their player.

The video recipes are all quite good quality and seem to be professionally created. The site looks new, so it's understandable that most of their video recipes concentrate on the food basics. Hopefully in time they will expand to more exotic and interesting palettes.

How 2 Heroes is an honest attempt to bring high-quality, professionally shot recipe videos to the masses. There are already several large competitors operating in this field, and How 2 Heroes main shortcomings lies in the lack of variety it offers, and it's clunky player. If you're looking for very basic recipes, try How 2 Heroes - but just don't expect anything past the bread & butter recipe staples (no pun intended).
Bon Appetit!

As the founder of the website, I hope you don't mind if i jump in. We pride ourselves on creating the highest quality original cooking content online. There are hundreds (1,400 to e exact) of educational food videos on our site covering everything from knife skills to gorgeous desserts to grilling to cooking with liquid nitrogen with hell's kitchen's jason santos. so the comment about not expecting anything beyond bread & butter staples is just not accurate. we have cheftestantas from top chef masters sharing their favorite recipes, home cooks sharing family recipes, farmers sharing knowledge on heirloom tomatoes. We cover a very wide range of topics, skills levels and interests. And you mention we're not as good as 5min - we are actually part of the 5min network so we are part of what makes up their content. I hope whoever reads this will check out how2heroes.com and make their own judgments. Aside from this article, we have received nothing but high praise from users and the press. Thank you.
